Munchausen Syndrome: A psychiatric disorder where one feigns an illness to draw and receive attention/sympathy for themselves.

Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome: This where caregivers/loved ones deliberately create or exaggerate physical and/or mental health symptoms in others to have control over them.

In either version of Munchausen syndromes, attention is the primary concern where there is some qualifying role of victimisation created. No doubt, this only perpetuates a greater sense of victimisation as well as co-dependency.

The longer one “mourns”, which leads to a sense of entitled prolonged victimisation, the more likely psychological and mental health problems are likely to become prevalent.
